The brilliant minds at MB&F have found yet another way to impress us all. The renowned Swiss watchmaker has teamed up with another acclaimed company from Switzerland, Caran d’Ache, a brand specialized in creating luxurious writing and drawing instruments, to create a wonderful pen called Astrograph.

That’s how the stunning mechanical rocket pen before you has been born, complete with rocket-shaped fuselage, a miniature astronaut, shock-absorbing “switchblade” landing gear and a case designed exactly like a launch pad, nothing short of a man-made marvel.

Acting as an incredible conversation starter, this mini launch site took four years to complete and refine, as the complex writing instrument features 99 sandblasted, satin-finished and rhodium-plated components – with three stabilizer legs allowing the Astrograph to stand up in a vertical manner.

As we’ve mentioned earlier, the presentation box is equally impressive, since it resembles a launch pad, but it also includes a tiny astronaut that might be magnetically attached to the body of the rocket pen. Available in three different forms, any of these incredible pens are priced at a staggering $19,900, but let’s face it, it’s all worth it, right?

MB&F teases us with a high gloss rhodium finish for the fountain pen, a sandblasted matte rhodium finish for the fountain or roller pen and a ruthenium anthracite finish for the fountain pen; and did we mention the fountain pen nib is made from rhodium-plated 18-carat gold?
